Clinical Conversation Series...

Clinical Conversations Series – A Group Mentoring Experience for Paediatric OTs - Session One
Claire Britton from NeuroInclusion and Alyce Svensk from The OT Coach Australia have come together to create a new kind of learning space for occupational therapists working with children.
Each month, they dive into the realities of therapy on the ground not just the textbook version. Claire and Alyce bring the hard questions to the table. Flesh out the realities of clinical practice in the real world and support you to feel more confident in your clinical reasoning and practice.
The first session of this series explores what it means to deliver neuroaffirming, relationship-based therapy. Rather than focusing only on goals and outcomes, the session highlights how engagement and co-regulation are themselves powerful therapeutic outcomes — and how to put this into practice.

Clinical Conversations – Regulation Meets Real Life: Goal Setting for Participation, Not Just Behaviour
During this session we dove into how we approach regulation in practice, and how we’ve shifted from compliance-driven strategies to supporting meaningful participation.
In this group mentoring session, Claire and Alyce:
- Share how their thinking around regulation and goal setting has changed
- Discuss what regulation actually looks like in practice
- Explore how to write goals that focus on participation, not behaviour
- Reflect on what has worked, what hasn’t, and what they now prioritise
This session blends honest discussion, clinical reasoning, and mentoring — giving you real insight into how two experienced clinicians approach this complex area of practice.

Clinical Conversations – Onboarding Families Effectively
This discussion unpacks the importance of being clear from the very start — both in what your service offers and in setting expectations with families.
 You’ll hear practical strategies on:
- Screening and onboarding tools that really work
- Parent-only sessions to set expectations
- Clear processes that support families and protect your time
- Smart systems to streamline notes, documentation, and scheduling
If you’re ready to make onboarding easier, kinder, and more effective, this recording is full of tips you can put into practice straight away.
Expect honest discussion, clinical reflection, and helpful prompts to improve the way you bring families into your service.

Clinical Conversations – Neuro-Affirming & Practical Goal Setting in Paediatric OT
This recording explores practical, neurodiversity-affirming approaches to goal-setting that enhance both clinical clarity and family engagement.
You’ll learn strategies for creating flexible, individualised goals that truly fit each client’s needs and context, while also discovering ways to streamline the administrative side of practice with helpful tools and templates.
The discussion also highlights how to balance professional autonomy with organisational expectations, and the value of peer support and shared knowledge when navigating challenges in therapy planning and delivery.
